L’imam Muhammad ibn Sirin a dit :
« Si on te rapporte quelque chose de ton frère, cherche lui une excuse. Et si tu n’en trouves pas, alors dit : « peut-être que mon frère à une excuse ». »
[Abu ach-Cheikh al-Asbahani]

Il faudrait préciser que cette excuse n’est pas valable pour tout mal et toute personne. Voici une fatwa qui l’explique :
